The Ultimate Music Showcase Event (December 2002)

ITC provided sound and Lighting equipment and support for the Semi Finals of the Ultimate Music Showcase Event, A Battle of the Bands/Artist Competition.

A great line up of 24 bands took part across 4 evening events. Apart from the bands, the fans and audience helped to make a spectacular event.

A Shermann Speaker System was provided, each side consisted of a base speaker and full range speaker positioned on top. 8 monitors were provided on stage along with microphones as required for instruments and vocals.

Par Cans and 4 moving head Intelligent lights were hung from trussing held by high stands in front and behind the stage, producing numerous effects with a number of differing gobo’s and colours enhanced by a supply a haze to provide maximum effect.

Bands were given a strict half-hour slot for Sound checking before the event. The 6 band at each event were given exactly 20 minutes to showcase. As well as operated the FOH mix and lighting, ITC Technicians had there work cut out in dealing with technical matters on stage, changing each band over in the 10 minute slots provided.

Judging criteria was by a panel of Judges, media vote, and audience vote on the night. The three bands to go through to the final were ‘3 second Memory’, ‘My Kid Sister’ and ‘Supervision’. ITC would like to thank each band for their co-operation during sound checking and the evening events. ‘It was a pleasure and joy working amongst such a high calibre of talented people’.
