Touring the UK keeps ITC engineers busy (2001 & 2002)

ITC have had a busy year touring the country with CompeteUK. CompeteUK is a national competition with teams experiencing challenges in a blend of mental, dexterity modules that test, initative, general knowledge, co-operation, awarness and intelligence. Events have taken place in Coventry, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, London to just mention a few. ITC provided the sound and lighting systems for the purpose-built indoor set.

The 4k sound rig consists of a pair of Shermann GX-750 speakers, with Shermann CB-218 base bins. The presenter uses a UHF Shure radio headset mic, with a Shure in-ear monitor system to keep in contact with the producer. Each of the 6 workstations used for the general knowledge games consist of an SM58 Microphone with halogen light above. 8 moving Intelligent lights change between challenges helping to create the desired atmosphere and tension, with lighting changing colours on the work stations as contestants answer wrongly.

One team recently wrote in a letter of thanks: "The ability to transform a hotel ballroom into an environment of sound, haze, and lights and present over two hours of very clear tension building team exercise was very, very impressive." Other contestants have commented on the intelligent lighting effects and on the outstanding sound quality.
