Engineered sound system at the The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales (August 2002)

ITC provided engineered sound systems for the Gorsedd ceremonies at the The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales In Pembrokeshire. The Eisteddfod is the largest travelling cultural festival in Europe.

The sound system included 8 x 750watt Shermann loud speakers situated around the main circular stage where the officials addressed the audience. Monitors where also provided for the members seated on stage.

The ceremonies were held during the week, the Crowning ceremony to honour the finest free verse poet, the Prose Medal ceremony and the Chairing Ceremony for strict metre poetry. During these ceremonies members of the Gorsedd of Bards gather on the Eisteddfod stage in their ceremonial robes, along with their elected leader who addresses the audience. The highlight of the Ceremony is when the identity of the winning poet is revealed, following which he or she is honoured by a children's floral dance and formal greetings. The Gorsedd ceremonies are unique to Wales and the National Eisteddfod, and to this day thousands of people each year come to enjoy this spectacular event.
