Sound, lighting, curtain tracks, and curtains are installed into High School (July 2002)

A resonantly obtained grant allowed Llanidloes high school to re-furnish the school hall with sound, lighting, curtain tracks, and curtains.

Three Shermann GX-501 speakers were permanently mounted. Two were positioned either side at the front of hall, the third was situated at the back of hall. The system was designed so that at any one time only two speakers could be activated (Depending on the position of the new portable stage) to provide clear reproduction throughout the hall. A Chameleon 1200w powered amplifier was permantly installed in the storage area.

A portable multicore on a drum for ease of use, enables use of the sound desk from any position within the hall. This multicore cable provides for 12 microphones, 2 audio returns, and 2 speaker returns for speaker lines.

The sound mixer and all equipment was housed in a portable flight case with accessories draw, and wheels at the base, and included a sound mixer, radio hand held microphone, CD Player and tape player.

3 lighting bars with 8 off 15 amp 3pin sockets and 2 lighting bars with 10 off 15 amp 3 pin sockets were installed.

The lighting bars were wired from their respective end connector boxes back to the 48 way patch panel, then hard wired to four Zero88 Chilli jnr dimmers fitted with 12 x 15 amp sockets and a 63 amp plug. The patch panel provided the interface between the lighting bars and the dimmers, allowing the required lighting bar circuits to be 'patched' to the dimmers as and when required.

An Elara lighting desk with 24 channels, supplied in a flight case, can be controlled from three hard wired outlets along one side of the hall.

The curtain track runs along each side of the hall, A track also runs across the entire width of the hall, this allows the main auditorium to be flexible in its operation by allowing the hall to be split into two equal halves.

The curtains were supplied in sections and chain weighting set up from the base and have Velcro along the trailing and leading edges to allow the curtains to be joined and separated as required.
